SPINE PROBLEMS

Kyphosis

  • Angular curvature of the spine pointing backward, usually situated in the thoracic region and involving a number of vertebrae.

 

Pott’s Disease

  • Tuberculosis of the spine.

 

Sciatica

  • Pain sensation which radiates down the sciatic nerve into the posterior thigh and leg.

 

Scoliosis

  • Lateral curvature of the spine.

 

Slipped Disc

  • Rupture of one of the pads of the cartilage that acts as shock absorbers between the spinal vertebrae. Or out-pouching of a disc.

 

Spondylolisthesis (Slipped Vertebrae)

  • Forward displacement of one vertebra over another, usually the fifth lumbar over the sacrum or the fourth lumbar vertebra over the fifth.

 

Torticollis (Wry Neck)

  • A spasmodic turning of the head to one side due to jerky contractions of the large muscle of the neck.

 

Whiplash Injury

  • Injury of the surrounding tissues of the cervical spine( neck region) caused by head jerks backward and forward or sudden and powerful force.
