KNEE/LOWER LEG PROBLEMS
Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Medial Meniscus
and Medial Collateral Ligament Tear
- Rupture of the ligaments caused by sudden twisting of the leg
or fall when the knee is bent.
Baker’s Cyst
- Fluid filled bump form at the back of the knee.
Bowleg
- A condition in which the legs are deformed and curved outward.
Chondromalacia
- Wearing down, roughening and cracking of the articular cartilage,
especially under the kneecap and femur, often results in pain,
swelling and grinding noise or sensation.
Jumper’s Knee
- Tenderness in the area of the inferior pole of the patella.,
usually seen in volleyball or basketball players.
Knock-Knee
- Deformity in which the knees are bent inward and abnormally
close together, and in which the space between the ankles is increased.
Knee Bursitis (Housemaid’s Knee)
- Bursitis in front of the kneecap due to pressure while kneeling
to scrub the floor.
Osgood-Schlatter’s Disease
- A bump below the kneecap, often painful and inflamed, is caused
by bone changes during rapid growth, especially among teens (boys).
